Bishop Eustace Preparatory School is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) institution. We recognize that many students prefer working with a PC or a Mac, an iPad or a Microsoft Surface, etc. Rather than require the use of one particular device, students are encouraged to bring a personal device to enhance their individual learning. Upon registering their device with the Technology Department, Eustace provides secure WiFi for students to use. Students may use their device in class with an instructor's permission and throughout our campus to work on assignments and accomplish many academic tasks, including homework, projects, and assessments.
BYOD is the preferred policy for Colleges and Universities. As a college preparatory school, Eustace wants to provide similar opportunities for students to prepare for college. Providing the option of choice allows a student to use what device works best for them, as those interested in Mathematics and Science tend to use different devices than those interested in the Arts.
While we allow students to bring in personal devices and will provide wifi access, personal devices are not required. With this flexibility in mind, families may purchase whatever they feel comfortable spending on a device. Instead of building money into our tuition, we empower families the ability to choose the device that suits their needs the best.
Bishop Eustace Preparatory School does not permit personal cellular phones on our wifi network, but MyEustace is mobile friendly, allowing virtually any device access to our Learning Mangement Software. Students may also take advantage of the many computers on our campus in the Lulli Library and can sign out individual laptops to use.
