Bishop Eustace Preparatory School’s Performing Arts Department is at the epicenter of musical culture in our community, from rehearsal rooms to the stage. Our Performing Arts Program provides our instrumentalists and vocalists with many educational opportunities and performance-based ensembles. These ensembles instrumentally consist of a Symphonic Band, String Orchestra, Crusader Pep Band, Full Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Pit Orchestra. Vocal ensembles consist of a Concert Choir, Choral Workshop, Mixed Select Choir and a Treble Select Choir.
Musical theatre offers all students an opportunity to perform in our annual spring musical. This is a wonderful opportunity for students with mixed skill sets to come together. It is a forum for not only students interested in acting, dancing and singing but also work behind the scenes. Students interested in performing in the Pit Orchestra or being a part of the crews: lighting design, sound engineering, stage managers and other crews are welcome.
Eustace offers the opportunity to practice independently or receive instruction one time per cycle in Independent Music Study. Independent Music Study is a one credit per year course that receives a letter grade quarterly and is a chance for students to participate in private instruction with one of our adjunct teachers. Specialists who teach at area universities and private institutions come in to work one-on-one or in mixed group lessons with our students. Our ensembles have clinics in which experienced conductors and educators come in to work with our students to give them another perspective on performance.
Joining the Performing Arts Program as a freshman and continuing it throughout the four years at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School will fulfill the senior requirement for humanities elective.
