An SLA tradition: Members of the Student Library Association share a final, farewell snack with graduating senior members. Pizza, hoagies, sweets, soda, gifts and certificates of appreciation, not to mention lots of hugs, were the order of the day. The occasion celebrated the contributions of senior SLA members, many of whom have participated in the association since freshman year. They will be missed!  (Article & Photos: N. Croce)

So many books…so little time! The Student Library Assn. hosted the B.E. Book Fair at Barnes & Noble, Marlton, on Saturday, April 23 from 12-5 p.m.. Members of WOW! (Wizards of Wonder) and the SLA entertained children with a magic show and a story hour, while B.E. music students wowed everyone in the store with their terrific talent. B.E. grad, Tom Wilk, author of New Jersey Firsts and Tales of South Jersey, and Margaret Buchholz and Larry Savadove, authors of Great Storms of the Jersey Shore, were also on hand for book signings. B&N gift certificates were raffled off and teachers were treated to free beverages in the café. A percentage of sales during the day will be donated to Bishop Eustace Preparatory School. Thanks to everyone, especially all B.E. parents who attended, for helping to make the occasion a success. (Article & Photos: N. Croce)

(Photos – Delivering the baskets to San Miguel School are seniors Andy B. and Miguel R. pictured with Brother William Johnson and some junior high students. Loading the car to deliver the baskets to St. Bartholomew Parish are seniors Doug J. and Mike H.)

Thanks to the continued generosity of the BE community, students at some of the local Catholic elementary schools will have a replenishment of school supplies to finish out the academic year. Twenty-seven baskets were delivered to St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral, Sacred Heart, and San Miguel schools as well as the CCD programs at St. Bartholomew and St. Anthony of Padua Parishes. The laundry baskets were filled with paper, pens, pencils, art supplies, playground toys, and candy. The schools and parishes were grateful for the materials, but also happy to share the spirit of St. Vincent Pallotti. Many thanks to the faculty who organized each homeroom’s gift.
