World Languages Department offers a four-year program in French, German, Latin
and Spanish. Students are required to take two years of the same language to
fulfill the graduation requirement. Students may select any language to fulfill
this requirement.
Placement Test
Students who have completed a full year
or equivalent of a Level 1 language course in eighth grade are encouraged to
take the placement test. A successful grade on this exam will place the student
in the Level 2 of the language.
Dual Credit
Students may earn
three college credits from Camden County College if they enroll
in Level 3 of any language and maintain a grade average of a B
or higher. Students may earn an additional three credits in Level
4 of any language and maintain a grade average of a B or higher.
Students are to check with colleges to determine whether these
credits are transferable.
Language Honor Societies
Students who are
placed in Level 3 of any language and have maintained a 3.6 average
in the language over the past three semesters of that language
are invited to apply to the Language Honor Societies.
